Features

Rubber Rolled Asphalt is an anti-freezing asphalt pavement whose surface is embedded with special pre-coated rubber chips. Ice sheets and compacted snow break from the load of vehicles traveling on the pavement. The anti-freezing performance is sustainable, and the pavement is as durable as ordinary asphalt pavement. The rubber chips are expected to give the pavement extended anti-freezing effectiveness.

Schematic

Because the rubber aggregate particles are large, they deform more under traffic load than conventional rubber particles do, so they promote increases in the area of bare pavement. Consequently, ice sheets don’t easily form, and when they do form, they’re easily broken up.
